    American Axle & Manufacturing Quantum lightweight driveline technology wins the inaugural Future of Lightweighting Altair Enlighten Award recognizing lightweighting initiatives that have yet to be leveraged on a production vehicle platform. For most vehicle segments, Quantum allows for at least a 30% reduction in vehicle mass, AAM VP and CTO Phil Guys said. Other advantages are reduced mass, improved noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and efficiency in a compact system package.
